We do not archive, back up, or permanently store expired messages on physical disks. Once expired, messages cannot be recovered by any party.
  • Hashed IP Addresses for Rate Limiting: To safeguard our infrastructure against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, brute-force spamming, and automated scraping, client IP addresses are transformed using a one-way cryptographic hash (e.g., SHA-256 with a rotating salt). Hashed IP counters are kept exclusively in short-term volatile cache for rate-limiting purposes and are automatically cleared within 24 hours. We do not store plaintext IP addresses linked to user activity.
  • Standard Web Server Logs: Like virtually all websites, our web server (e.g., Nginx) records standard operational log entries (timestamp, HTTP request method, requested URL path, response status code, and browser user-agent string). These server logs are collected solely for system diagnostics, server performance monitoring, and investigating security incidents. Operational server logs are automatically rotated and deleted within 30 days.
